I don't know if most students realize how much preparation goes into getting a trip like this off the ground. We have spent hours working with the folks in India to ensure that the students have a positive cultural and educational experience.
Al and I have been working on tweaking the syllabus, trying to outline key topics, find speakers, identify appropriate site visits, create solid assignments and quizzes, and decide on dates, times, and content for a student orientation.

- My grandmother always said "anything in moderation is okay." I'm the ultimate moderate. I find people increasingly moving to extremes whether it be with eating, exercising, praying, talking, thinking ... This is exacerbated by a soundbite society where the information flow has led to people forming judgments based on limited bits of information fed to them by the media. To me, nothing is as bad (or as good) as it seems at first glance. As a result, I rarely rush to judgment and am completely open to changing my views once I get more information. I think "flip-flopping" is a sign of intelligence and willingness to adapt your views as you get more information.
